Potsuri is made by one person, so a reply may take a few days. If you are reporting a problem, it helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. There is no need to send us your recording or its transcript — we cannot read them anyway.
Our business address is provided without delay on request.
No account needed
There is no sign-up and no sign-in. The app works the moment you open it. We do not hold your email address or your name.
Your journal lives on this device
Your recordings, transcripts, moods, and tags are all stored on your iPhone. We do not keep them on our servers.
During transcription only, your voice passes through our server to a speech recognition provider. It is not stored there, and it is not stored on our server. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Because of this, deleting the app deletes your journal with it. When you change phones, use the transfer described below.
Changing phones
From Settings, "Transfer" moves the journal from your old iPhone to your new one once. It is free.

Do not delete the app on the old device until the new one has finished receiving.
When transcription fails
The recording itself is safe on your device. Only the transcription failed — your voice is not lost.
Open the entry and you will find a button to try transcribing again. If it still does not go through, please check:
- Whether you are connected to the internet
- Whether you have reached the daily limit on entries (the app shows how many remain)
- Whether "Spoken language" in Settings matches the language you actually spoke
If waiting and retrying does not help, please write to the address above.
Deleting entries
- One entry — swipe left in the list, or open the entry and choose delete
- Everything — delete the app. The data on the device goes with it
- Analytics data — turn off "Help improve the app" in Settings. What was already sent is deleted too. No need to contact us
Requirements
iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later. Potsuri is distributed on the Japanese App Store only.
Recording requires microphone permission. Without it you cannot create entries, but you can change this later in the iPhone Settings app.
